Here’s our guide to the best of what’s on in and around Greater Manchester this weekend plus some suggestions from our social followers.
See the city in an exhilarating new light
After nightfall, a 5km course in Heaton Park will be transformed into an enchanting passage, illuminated with bespoke and beautiful festoon lighting and by the LED Moonbeam wristbands given to each runner. The Moon Rise Run will culminate with a festival featuring live music, food and drink.
Browse the Northern Quarter’s pop up market
The highly successful Levenshulme Market pops up in Manchester’s Northern Quarter this Sunday. Approximately 30 stalls will showcase local independent traders. A range of goods will be on offer, from artisan fresh food, vintage products, modern craft and books.
Get your hands on the best in print and design
The Manchester Print Fair was started in 2011 by designer Alessandra Mostyn from a belief that the city could benefit from an all-round creative event which celebrated print design in all its forms. On sale will be works from emerging artists, students and freelance designers alike.
Watch the champions of BMX go head to head
Activity commences from 4pm on Saturday April 18 when doors to the world-class BMX centre will open to adrenalin fuelled crowds. Attendees to the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup will see the world’s top 64 men and 32 women race elbow to elbow through the rounds to claim victory.
