Here’s our guide to the best of what’s on in and around Greater Manchester this weekend plus some suggestions from our Twitter followers.
Be there for the return of Brian Potter
Phoenix Nights is returning for the first time in fifteen years with a very special live show in aid of Comic Relief for two nights only. Tickets are still available for both the Saturday and Sunday shows at Manchester Arena.
Watch an international roller derby at The Thunderdome
Rainy City Roller Girls kick off 2015 with a bang as the All Stars face Helsinki’s Kallio Rolling Rainbow. They will be fighting to keep their title as one of the best roller derby teams in Europe. Go and see the beasts in action on their home turf in Oldham on Saturday.
Take your seat for Superbowl XLIX
Black Dog Ballroom we will be screening the Superbowl on Sunday evening. With 2 huge projector screens upstairs on the roof terrace, and several more downstairs in the bar, there is absolutely no chance of you missing any of the action. Expect drinks offers and free hot dogs and nachos at half time. Cue suitably epic trailer…
Here’s what our Twitter followers recommend this weekend:
- @SueEllCee Have a drink in one of the many fab pubs and bars and, if so inclined, visit one of those wonderful libraries.
- @angieokchan There’s Kairos (live art performance & poetry) on Sat 12-6pm @CornerhouseMcr https://twitter.com/cornerhousemcr/status/560828343336325121 …
