Stanley Chow at Chinese Contemporary Arts Centre
Friday 11 April – Sunday 22 June
The Manchester born artist takes visitors on an engaging trip down memory lane, creating a replica takeaway shop front filled with his unique illustrative works.

Clifford Owens at Cornerhouse
Saturday 10 May – Sunday 17 August
The first major European show by the American conceptual artist, Owens’ work explores the intersection of photography, video, text and performance.

Collider at MOSI
Friday 23 May – Sunday 28 September
This immersive exhibition blends theatre, video and sound art with real artefacts from the Hadron Collider that is buried deep under the border between Switzerland and France.

A Land Fit For Heroes at People’s History Museum
Saturday 24 May – Sunday 1 February 2015
Find out how the war changed society, radically altering the social, economic, cultural and political outlook of the British people.


Spring Festival of Markets in St. Anne’s Square
Thursday 22 May – Sunday 8 June
A festival of themed markets that include Vintage and Fashion and feature some of the North West’s best artisan producers.

Stockport Beer & Cider Festival
Thursday 29 – Saturday 31 May
With hundreds of beers and ciders on offer, great live entertainment, stalls and food, there’s a good reason why this festival is one of the premier events in the Stopfordian calendar.

Saturday 10 May

Jazz Supper Club at Steak and Lobster
Sunday 25 May
During the 1950s & ’60s Manchester attracted some of the leading names in jazz to The Free Trade Hall. Now home to the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel and Steak & Lobster restaurant, on the last Sunday of the month diners are treated to a Cajun themed buffet and showcase of some of the best jazz musicians performing on the circuit today.
