Visitors to Manchester are in for a real treat this weekend as the region is brimming with top class events. Here’s our 3 suggestions for what to get up to, plus some bonus recommendations from our social media friends.

  • Art lovers are in for a real treat as the Buy Art Fair returns to Spinningfields bringing a great selection of art to the city. Entry is free and visitors can pick up some affordable art in relaxed surroundings. With over 70 galleries showing work from 500 artists, there is bound to be something you cannot go home without.
  • It’s the opening weekend of Manchester Food & Drink Festival which sees a whole host of excellent food and drink inspired events taking place across the city. Highlights this weekend include the free food masterclasses at the Festival Hub in Albert Square where you can learn to create a number of tasty delights; chefs of the future can even have a go at the Kids Pizza Masterclass on Saturday.
  • Salford Musical Festival returns for the fourth year this weekend showcasing some of the best upcoming musical talent from the city and beyond. A great excuse to explore some of Salford’s quirky and unique music venues, the festival features over 400 artists over four days with local lass Ren Harvieu headlining.
