Here’s our guide on what to do this weekend in Manchester plus some bonus suggestions from our helpful social media followers.

  • There are lots of great events taking place at Manchester Pride Fringe this weekend, highlights include the sixth annual Pink Dog Show in Sackville Gardens, The Great Village Bake Off and Colour of Salford at Greengate Square – a colourful celebration of music, water and paint at Salford’s newest public space.
  • There’s a great free treat for Disney fans at the Spinningfields Family Film Club tomorrow with a screening of Tangled at 11am. There will also be a whole host of fun-filled activities, including face painters, balloon modellers and families will be treated to a very special Disney guest both before and after the screening.
  • Take a trip Gallery Oldham to see the Spindleopolis When Cotton was King exhibition which features contemporary paintings, photographs and objects which explore the lives of ordinary Oldhamers 100 years ago when the town boasted more cotton spindles than any other town in the world.
